About the event

A few months ago my son (age 9) made a profound statement. It was so matter of fact that it took me off center “Mom, I think adults really need to take a minute to ask themselves when it all went horribly wrong for them.  You guys are all too serious. You don’t even enjoy your lives.”

Ugh, I felt his words hit my gut.  He wasn’t wrong.

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to play, or let loose the most imaginative thoughts and solutions to any of your adult problems/blockages? When was the last time you set aside any "proper manners" or rational thought to explore your wild child desires?

We all still have that eager inner child that wants to be heard and share their genius.

What about the work environment? Have you ever presented an idea that was immediately shut down before even explaining how it could work? Does your inner critic censor you before you can get the words out?

A few of the most common statements I hear from participants of The Brave Women’s Transformation Project are: “I don’t know how to play” or “what do you mean we are going to play?!” Or “What if I look ridiculous?!”

Sometimes we don't have to look outside of ourselves to find the little bugger that keeps self sabotaging. It’s time to ditch the self-sabotage, people pleasing, abandoning of self, and all the other crud that so many of us as women tend to take on.  It’s time to tap into the wild and wise child within you through the power of play.

The benefits of play far outweigh the risk of being perceived as ridiculous.  It is an underrated value, often viewed as trivial nonsense, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.  It is essential to our wellbeing and a life giving ally as we navigate expanding into our most empowered and authentic selves.

According to the National Institute for Play (NIFP), play uniquely generates optimism, seeks out novelty, makes perseverance fun, leads to mastery, gives the immune system a boost and fosters empathy. Play is also powerful in creating a sense of community.

Play can help you be the best versions of yourself when facing “adult problems,” like work stress, parenting, marriage and the many other responsibilities that come with adulting. Don’t think of play as a waste of time or as an activity that’s only for children. Instead, consider it an investment in your overall mental and physical wellbeing.

Join us at The Brave Women’s Transformation Project as we offer women a space to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of imagination and play!  This whimsical approach is a unique platform for transformative self-work. Less painful; yet just as powerful!
