About the event
This is Lucia Severtson founder of The Brave Women’s Transformation Project thinking out loud as I write this description. As I sat with a dear friend and co-creative collaborator, brainstorming over coffee, the theme of play kept coming to the forefront. We realized that it was time to temporarily ditch the heavy stuff. Enough of the self-sabotage, people pleasing, abandoning of self, and all the other crud that so many of us tend to take on.
Inspired by the power of play and creativity, we decided instead of a workshop, we needed a playshop – where women can eagerly tap into their wild, brave, spontaneous, inner curious selves. There are few scents in this world that have the power to transport us right back to childhood. We acknowledged that for us, as we suspect is true for many of you, it’s playdough. Ah yes playdough, even as I write about it, I can faintly pick up the scent as the nostalgia courses through my body.
Sipping our lattes, we pondered what to name this impish playshop. For kicks and giggles, we settled on a party with “Playdough Duh!”
What To Expect:
v Playdough, lots of it, along with tools and molds to spark your creativity.
v Guided prompts that encourage individual and group play.
v Storytelling through collaborative storyboard(s)
v Creative Writing to breathe life into the playdough storyboard(s)
This whimsical approach is a unique platform for therapeutic/transformative self-work. It’s less painful; yet just as powerful.
