About the event
What is the Brave Women’s Monologue Troupe:
The Brave Women’s Monologue Troupe is a biweekly, therapeutic group for women of all ages and backgrounds who would like to be part of an empowering community of women, striving to break free from limiting self narratives so that they may create a life that is self led and courageous. This group aims to guide women into self leadership, bravery, and the co-creation of a cohesive community of women who empower and support one another.
Through therapeutic modalities based in drama therapy, somatic therapy, creative writing, and traditional psychotherapy modalities, members will challenge the social and family constructs that do not serve them, and be empowered to create a new, self narrative. Members will also learn to harness their fear of public performance, while gaining confidence in their ability to write and speak with authenticity and power.
Members will be invited to perform a monologue(s) of their choosing at monthly performance events hosted by The Brave Women’s Transformation Project. Performances focus on autobiographical monologues that showcase everyday bravery, and inspire women to keep moving forward towards their dreams, though fear may be present.
